Welcome to the Isle of Wight Playing Fields Association.
The Association was first set up in about 1966, but it was almost wound up in 1998. We resurrected the Association in June 2010.
We are fortunate to have Andrew Turner, Member of Parliament for the Island as our Patron. The first Honorary President is the High Sheriff for the Island,
Mrs. Susie Sheldon.
Our Vice-Presidents are all Islanders who are proud to be involved in the reformed Association as they all remember playing on the Island's Playing Fields. These are Lee Bradbury, currently Manager of AFC Bournemouth,
Alan Marriott, Editor of the Isle of Wight County Press
Glyn Taylor Sport and Recreation presenter on Isle of Wight Radio.
We have a very active committee, which comprises the following members:
Chairman - Roger Craven (Isle of Wight Law Centre)
Vice-Chairman - Bob Ackland (Chairman Milne Trust)
Garry Barter (Isle of Wight Sports Council)
Peter Giles (Schools Football)
Phil Lancey Shanklin Youth Football
Lee Matthews (IOW Sports & Recreation Unit)
Margaret Prior (Mayor of East Cowes)
Scott Rice (IW Community Club)
